Hervé VAN DER STRAETEN

From his first jewelry creations in 1985, to the installation of his gallery in the Marais in 1999 and his own bronze and woodworking workshops in 2004, Hervé Van der Straeten has done nothing but pursue his research and establish his independence. He creates pieces which combine a radical freedom of tone with high quality execution. Unique pieces and limited series of furniture, mirrors and lighting have convinced the greatest international collectors and decorators, but also French institutions. His pieces are part of the collections of the Mobilier National and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris. His company has been labeled «Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant» (Living Heritage Company) since 2007 by the Ministry of Culture and the designer was named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres in 2008. Major luxury houses have called upon him to design products that have become iconic, such as the «J’adore» bottle by Dior. His work is exhibited at Tefaf, PAD, and by the galleries Karsten Grève, Ralph Pucci and Flore. Hervé Van der Straeten and Alexandre Biaggi worked together for the first time in 2000. This year they celebrate 20 years of collaboration with a new collection.
